Everything You Need To Know About the 4KC
4KC is a gloving competition that brings together some of the best and brightest young artists from across the United States.
For too long the Gloving Community has hungered for a properly managed, UNBIASED and UNAFFILIATED competition with real stakes on the line and real effort to create an experience unlike anything else a glover can experience. The true feeling of community.
We are here to satisfy that hunger. We are You Got Moves and we are here to bring the 4KC.
This tournament will be structured unlike any Gloving Tournament before.
This will be a single elimination bracket with a twist we like to call REDEMPTION.
REDEMPTION allows for those who suffer a loss to still remain in the tournament.
48 glovers will sign up to start ROUND ONE in one-on-one gloving trades.
HALF of all Competitors will automatically move on in each round.
The HIGHEST SCORING glovers who did not win their match will also move onto the next round by earning REDEMPTION
Each show will be judged using the Official IGL Scorecard with all point values doubled. (Each Judge will submit a score of 70pts per glover per show).
Each glover can earn a total of 140pts for each light show between both judges.
OPEN BRACKET ROUNDS:
Round 1 = 48 Glovers -> 24 Winners + 12 Redemption = 36 Glovers move on
Round 2 = 36 Glovers -> 18 Winners + 6 Redemption = 24 Glovers move on
Round 3 = 24 Glovers -> 12 Winners + ZERO REDEMPTION = 12 Survivors move on
IF YOU ARE STILL STANDING HERE, CONGRATS, YOU HAVE MADE IT TO THE PLAYOFFS
At the end of 2019 it was announced that 12 Contenders would earn an invitation to compete in the Playoffs of the 4KC.
The 12 Survivors will EACH be paired against one of the 12 contenders.
PLAYOFF ROUND:
24 Glovers = 12 Winners + 4 REDEMPTION = 16 Glovers move on
QUARTERFINAL ROUND:
16 Glovers = 8 Winners + ONE FINAL REDEMPTION = 9 Glovers move on
SEMI FINAL ROUND:
9 glovers will be split into THREE GROUPS OF THREE.
Semi final matches will have 3 judges per show. Each Glover can earn up to 210 points for their light show
Glovers will face off in three-way Battles to determine each of the Three Finalists.
Glovers will each get to CHOOSE THEIR OWN LIGHT SHOW RECIPIENT for the Semi-Final Battle (Can not choose their opponents or judges for their match)
The winner of each 3 way battle moves on to the Grand Finals.
2nd and 3rd place are eliminated.
GRAND FINAL ROUND:
Three Way Final Battle.
Highest Scores Determines 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place
This Match will have SIX judges including at least one judge from each Semi-Finals - May also Include Special Guest NON-GLOVER Judges
Glovers can earn a total of 420 points for their Grand Finals Performance
Finalists will each get to CHOOSE THEIR OWN LIGHT SHOW RECIPIENT for the Final Battle (Can not choose their opponents or judges for their match)

Open packs of cigarettes (upon entry)

Glass or bottles of any kind
Noise producing items such as airhorns or megaphones
Laser Pointers / Laser pens
Fireworks or anything openly flammable (Sorry to any fire spinners attending!)

The inaugural 4KC will take place at The Globe Theater in Los Angeles California on Sunday, March 1st, 2020.
90% of all tournament entries ($23/$25) will contribute to the prize pool of the tournament. As we acquire sponsors for the 4KC, we will add to the prize pool with sponsor contributions. This is the current Prize Breakdown based on a sold-out tournament:

You will need to purchase a "Venue entry" ticket along with your "Tournament Entry"
The 4KC is hosted at the grace of additional third parties,and the funds from these tickets go towards the cost of the venue as well as expenses of the event. Your purchase of a venue entry ticket helps ensure that we can do this again!
Venue Entry tickets will also earn you access to the afterparty for hours of open trade time with Live DJs!
The Four Kingdoms are regions separated by time zone. Each sitting within their own realm, but craving the feel of real competition.
The Island Kingdom - Hawaii & International Entries
The island kingdom sits isolated from the rest of the land. As a close knit community of talented, hard working and welcoming souls drive to grow the collective presence of their unique and unparalleled style. For too long, the island kingdom has felt the need to prove something. Now, with Contenders of their own to submit, they stand united behind their traveling potential champions.
The Coastal Kingdom - Pacific Time Zone (CA, NV, OR, WA)
lined with beaches, sunshine, bright lights and grand entrances, the Coastal kingdom boasts more founding champions than any other Kingdom. As hosts of the 4KC, the horns are sounding in celebration in an already anticipated victory. However, with new regional winners and online sensations making so many waves from every other kingdom, it is time to see if the founding communities can stack up to their counterparts.
The Mountain Kingdom - Mountain Time Zone (AZ, NM, CO, UT, MT, WY, ID)
High above the coasts, rivers and far closer to the clouds sits the Mountain Kingdom. Forged in stone, snow, and met with much resistance, the Mountain Kingdom is here to stake their claim as the newest forces to be reckoned with. Armed with the might of the mountain winds, they march forth to claim yet another title ready to be added to their collection.
The River Kingdom - Central and Eastern Time Zones - (Literally everything else)
As the largest kingdom in the land, the River Kingdom holds more regional competitions than any other. Producing contender after contender and finding strength in numbers. Will the sheer might of the river be too much for the other contenders? Only time will tell....
