GFC Online Tournament Entry (READ DESCRIPTION)

COMP Structure and episode schedule

48 Glovers start the event by submitting two light shows each upon purchasing their ticket.

 

Judges will meet via video call with the official GFC host

Judging will be broadcast featuring 8 glovers featured per episode

 

12 episodes total, broadcast twice a week for 6 weeks.

Each glover will be featured in two separate episodes.

 

After all shows are scored, the top 12 move on to the playoffs.

 

6 Contenders (Champions of past events) are added in the Playoffs.

Playoff rounds will feature guest judges + possible bonus categories

Playoff round will be broadcast in four episodes over two weeks

 

total remaining glovers are grouped into 1 on 1 matches

9 winners move on to semi finals, split into groups of 3

 

Each Semi Final match will have its own episode, broadcast over a single week.

Semi Finals = 3x three-way battles, winners move on to the grand final round

 

Grand Finals will contain six judges, three-way battle to determine 1st, 2nd, 3rd

Concept Execution Judging Section

Cleanliness /5 

*Measurement of kinetic animation and display of illusion glover is projecting - Did the performer’s hands still look like hands?

Use of Space /5 

*spatial accuracy with the relevance of equal distance/speed - What Space did the glover use? How well was it used? How well did they transition from different sizes of space used or different areas used? (This includes depth of field)

Difficulty Of Concepts /10 

*Examine the need for dexterity, complex brain timing, and precision. - Did the moves require finger independence, control, or involve coordination of two moving parts (hands, arms, or fingers) that would normally not work in said timing?

Traits and Tone Judging Section

Delivery /5 

* Rating of digestibility and placement of “power” moves. - Did the flare moves/ power moves make sense? Did you feel impacted or have an emotional response to any part of the show? 

Showmanship /5 

*Glover’s portrayal of their persona through their light show - Do you feel like you, as a judge, now have a better understanding of the glover as a person after watching this show?

Musicality /10 

*Measurement of both understanding and awareness of the song. How clear was the glover’s idea of the song through movement? Did it feel like their hands were actually playing the song or causing the sounds instead of reacting to them?

Tournament Structure

48 Glovers will begin the Preliminary Rounds.

Each Glover will submit two videos.

Each must be to a different song 

Each must have a different background, room, or setting (Even if it means just two different rooms in your house or two different corners of the same room with variance in lighting/color set/clothing. 

Prelim Shows:

  • GOOGLE DRIVE LINK ONLY
  • Video Time Stamp must be in between 1:45 and 2:15
  • Video can not contain music licensed by Universal or Sony
  • Title each video with your glover name + "Prelim Show #1" or "Prelim Show #2"
  • Both prelim shows will have the same judges to ensure that stipulations are followed and to avoid repetitive concepts/power moves. 

Shows are each scored on a 40 point card by 2 judges. Each Judge is responsible for one section of the scorecard during each show. Both Shows together equal 80 points for each Glover. Scores are then ranked 1-48, top 12 moves on to the playoffs. 

12 Playoff Gloves are paired up against 6 Contenders in a one on one bracket. 2 Judges per match, 40 pts total per show. 

Playoff Round Light Shows:

  • GOOGLE DRIVE LINK ONLY
  • Video Must End between 2:00 and 2:30  in Length 
  • Video can not contain music licensed by Universal or Sony
  • Must be titled “(Glover Name) vs (Opponent’s Name) GFC Playoffs - Yougotmoves.com

9 WINNERS move on to Semi-Final.3-way battles  4 Judges per match, 80 pts total per show

Semi-Final Round Light Shows:

  • GOOGLE DRIVE LINK ONLY
  • Video Must End between 2:30 and 3:00  in Length 
  • Video can not contain music licensed by Universal or Sony
  • Must be titled “(Glover Name)  GFC Online Semi-Finals - Yougotmoves.com

3 Winners move on to finals. The final match is a 3-way battle. 6 Judges total, three for each Category. Glovers are placed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd based on Scores of the final match (120pts total).
