G3: Gloving Event Tournament Entry (read description)

PURCHASING THIS TICKET CONFIRMS YOUR ENTRY INTO THE G3: GLOBAL GLOVING GAUNTLET 

You must purchase a VENUE ENTRY G3: Global Gloving Gauntlet 2022 to enter the venue and compete. This is separate from your Tournament Entry Fee and helps us cover the cost of the event. 

The 48 Competitor tickets will be sold in batches to ensure opportunity for purchase across more than one day just in case the tournament should sell out quickly.

As of 5/9/22 - there are 16 spots still available. 

Batches are unlocked once the total number of GA Tickets sold reaches certain thresholds. Our estimated break-even attendance is 350 to 400 GA tickets sold.  

48 Competitor Ticket Batch Release Schedule:

1ST BATCH 10x Entries - Went on sale 3.27.22 when 25 GA Tickets were sold

2ND BATCH 10x Entries - Went on sale 4/21/22 when 50 total GA Tickets were sold

3RD BATCH 8x Entries - Will go on sale once 100 total GA Tickets sold

4TH BATCH 8x Entries - Will go on sale once 150 GA Tickets sold

The Remaining 12x Tickets have been claimed via purchases of the "SPONSOR THE G3" Jersey 

Structure:

Just as we did for 4KC, 48 Glovers begin round 1 paired into one on one matches. 24 Winners move on and the 12 highest scoring losing shows ALSO move on by what we call 'REDEMPTION' 

OPEN BRACKET ROUNDS:
Round 1 = 48 Glovers -> 24 Winners + 12 Redemption = 36 Glovers move on
Round 2 = 36 Glovers -> 18 Winners + 3 Redemption  + 3 CONTENDERS = 24 Glovers next round 
Round 3 = 24 Glovers -> 12 Winners + ZERO REDEMPTION = 12 Survivors move on

CONTENDERS are past tournament champions who have accepted their invitation. 

The 12 Survivors will be joined by 12 contenders in the playoffs. 

PLAYOFF ROUND:
24 Glovers = 12 Winners + 3 REDEMPTION + 1 FINAL CONTENDER = 16 Glovers move on

BUBBLE ROUND:
16 Glovers = 8 Winners + ONE FINAL REDEMPTION = 9 Glovers EARN PRIZES and move on

SEMI-FINAL ROUND:
9 glovers will be split into THREE GROUPS OF THREE.

Semi-final matches will have 3 judges per show.

Each Glover can earn up to 210 points for their light show

Glovers will face off in three-way Battles to determine each of the Three Finalists.

Glovers will each get to CHOOSE THEIR OWN LIGHT SHOW RECIPIENT for the Semi-Final Battle (Can not choose their opponents or judges for their match)

The winner of each 3-way battle moves on to the Grand Finals.

2nd and 3rd place are eliminated WITH PRIZES.

GRAND FINAL ROUND:
Three-Way Final Battle.

Highest Scores Determines 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place

This Match will have SIX judges including at least one judge from each semi-final 

Judge panel may also Include Special Guest NON-GLOVER Judges

Glovers can earn a total of 420 points (nice) for their Grand Finals Performance

Finalists will each get to CHOOSE THEIR OWN LIGHT SHOW RECIPIENT for their show (Can not choose their opponents or judges for their match)

We return to The Globe Theater on August 13th, 2022.
